Billing
Prepaid balances, reservations, exact metering, and mission budgets.
Bloodhound is prepaid. The system never lets an account spend beyond its available balance.
Before a paid operation begins, Bloodhound places a balance reservation for that operation. After it completes, the reservation is settled against exact recorded usage and any unused amount is released. If the calculated charge ever exceeds the reservation, the entry is stopped for billing review instead of being charged automatically.
Every settled entry records the provider, service, units, provider cost, customer charge, mission, account, duration, and timestamp. Failed operations release their reservation and are not silently charged as successes.
Budget boundaries
The available balance, fixed mission limit, and system safety limit are evaluated together. The smallest remaining allowance wins.
